The Brothers of Banu Haqq!

Assalaaaaaamu Alaikum Brothers!

This thread is well past due, but hopefully it's something that will be "in demand". I've seen you all post here and there on the forum, but it's hard to know who's who from the user names. And sometimes we come on the forum and read, but don't post anything.

Okay, I say us brothers start sticking together and use this thread to post stuff. Anything will go insha'Allah: Deen, Sports, Thoughts, anything else that you want to share with the brothers.

Now, how about a short intro to see who else is on this forum?

Re: The Brothers of Banu Haqq!

The intent of this thread? Wow, mA good question! I dont think I thought that far ahead. LOL.

I'm just playin. Wallah, i think it'd be nice if sometimes we can address things and know that they are only intended for the brothers. We can plan Brother's Activites within Banu Haqq, keep in touch, address brotherly subjects maybe? It's all fair game! Makes sense?

I don't mean to intrude on the brothers thread But I just wanted to say that Brother Umer has a great idea about posting material relevant to the seminar. Both brothers and sisters can post questions, reminders, and gems from the seminar. These posts should go in the seminar folder.

Re: The Brothers of Banu Haqq!

I apologize for coming in this "brothers" thread. But I have some ideas to share to make our forum participation more beneficial not only for us but also for others
and also how to make other students participate more frequently in the forums.

1. If we take our ROE class, there are many key things that Sh.Muhammad discussed with us which we deal with almost everyday in our life. For eg:
- Patience
- Anger
- Rights of parents or how to deal with them
- lieing

Lets make a list of these topics and start a thread on each one insha Allah. (A thread has already started on "Anger".) Lets post any hadith or ayah or stories from the sahabas or stories that Sh.Muhammad quoted in those respective threads. Also we can post what we learned or how we implemented or the effect on us. Finally with all the information collected we will come up with an article which we will use for our newsletter insha Allah.

Benefits from this: Since we are doing it as a team we will have more beneficial posts and we will learn lot from these and if given a chance for us to give a halaqa to our family members or friends on one of these topics, this study will help us to gain deeper understanding in each of these subjects and inshaAllah therefore it will help us in our halaqa circle or dawah.

We can come up with an awesome summarized version for our newsletter.

We can split the class into 3-4 teams among brothers and sisters and each team will do their work on given topics. We can form some good competition insha Allah which will pull in all the students if not majority of them to the forums.

We can also use Banu Haqq radio to announce our results or winner teams.

Down the road after 3 or 4 years insha Allah, if we wanted to clarify something on these topics we can always come back to our threads and get the info that we wanted.

We have exactly 4 weeks for our exam insha Allah. Either we can assign number of days for each topic or open up all the topics and set a deadline for each of them.

Secondly, I was thinking to setup a Banu Haqq forum time (weekly once or twice) so we can all have some online review session or QA time where we can help each other to post questions or doubts or clarification.

This is just my idea. Please share your thoughts also so we can finalize and implement it soon insha Allah.

Sr.Quest

Bismillah.

As-Salaamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh,

Please forgive me for stepping in here. I got curious when I saw sister quest as the last poster in this thread.

I really like all of the suggestions you made, ukhti. We should really get started.

Regarding the splitting up the qabeelah-to-be, insha' Allah, into groups, is that going to be over the forums, offline, or both? I didn't quite follow that. Please elaborate. Jazakillah khair.

Was-Salaamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh.

Re: The Brothers of Banu Haqq!

Does anyone have the names, numbers, and emails for the brothers who took the seminar?

We should hit them up and maybe get a private review/discussion session going.

SubhanAllah! I think Hisham you should have added a Brother's Only at the end of the title of this thread as the Sisters have been doing.
