Re: Copyright

Asalaamu'alaikum

Many of the lectures posted on that site are copyrighted by EmanRush. When someone posts EmanRush lectures online for free download, all it does is hurt EmanRush. We lose lots of money in sales this way. 100% of profits go directly back into producing more brilliant CDs, and if we don't do this, it just means that we won't be able to afford producing any more eman rushes (pun intended).

Please help us and other Muslim audio compnaies from losing out by encouraging others not to download copyrighted material.

Jazakallah khair!
Wasalaamu'alaikum

Re: Copyright

Wa `alaykumussalaam wa Rahmatullaahi wa Barakatuhu

I'd really like EmanRush Audio to consider a different approach to their audio distribution. No doubt, the benefit that comes from the lectures cannot be enumerated. However, most of the money that is made from the CDs, as you have said, goes right back into producing more CDs. Meaning, therefore, that the CDs and their distribution are also the greatest share of the operating costs of EmanRush Audio.

Why not continue to produce the audio, but do not focus on CD production, and focus on just producing the high-quality recordings that EmanRush does and always has done? I have had this discussion with Muhammad before, but I want to open up the idea once more, especially in light of his comment in the quoted text above. I do not see how free distribution and poor quality must go together. I've really thought long-and-hard about this, and I think I can propose a marketing model that will get the benefit spread out to greater audiences than a purely commercial one could, in shaa Allaah.

This is my humble advice.

"Do not wish to be like anyone except in two cases. (The first is) A person, whom Allah has given wealth and he spends it righteously; (the second is) the one whom Allah has given wisdom (the Holy Qur'an) and he acts according to it and teaches it to others."
