Assalaamu'alaikum Wa Rahmatullah,

This is what was covered in class:

1. Virtues and Prerequisites to Studying and Benefitting from Knowledge

2. Introduction to Sciences of Hadeeth. Definitions of various terms.

3. Explanation of legal and religious definitions/implications of the Sunnah

4. Biography and contributions of early and later compilers of Sunnah. Some names you will be very familiar with and some you won't.

5. Parts of hadeeth, it's structure, methodology, classification, abrogation, rejection, authentication. Various levels of hadeeth and the conditions requiring it.

6. Explanation and Understanding of Jarh wa ta'deel.

Hope this helps. I may have left a lot of stuff out but these are the basics. There are also a LOT of amazing class activities. It was a very engaging and essential class to understanding one of the key components of Islam.
