Do we have a committee for this?

As I mentioned in

I'm willing to edit the notes inshaallah, after someone compiles them. :P

AbuHamzah is willing to seek hadith and ayat to complete the notes inshaallah.

Maybe we can divvy up the sections so the task of compiling the notes won't be too overwhelming for one or a few people.

That means that one or two people can take a section and compile notes for that, have complete hadith or quranic ayats inserted to make it complete, send it for editing, and that chunk is done.

I think maybe people hesitate because it is a big job, so maybe breaking it up would help?

And if we're going to have study sessions like Rays of Faith, we would need a whole committee for this, to make up the quiz questions, record the sessions, put it up on Moodle, post the notes on moodle (I can do that if no one else can) etc.

Oh and not to forget the wonderful team of Reloaded. This effort can actually be a collaboration. Qhen the quiz questions are made up by the study session committee, unused ones or maybe even used ones can be used for the reloaded, making it a more realistic burden to carry, inshaallah.

It depends on how many people we have to do this. There are 3 parts of the whole class, right?

If we have three people we can divide it like that and if we have more we can divide those up some more.

For example, maybe Hayler A take page 1 - 10, Hayler B take page 11 - 20 etc.

So hayler A would type up or compile notes that pertain to those pages, and when I say compile, I mean actually compiling Hayler's A own notes with some other Haylers' notes so it would be complete inshaallah. We would need haylers to volunteer their notes though, especillay those who typed them up, and it's ok if their notes are incomplete as we will all complete each other inshaallah. This is what compiling will entail.

AbuHamzah offered to search for the complete hadith and quranic ayats, so maybe those 'compilers' will send their compiled notes to him and he can insert the appropriate ahadeeth and ayat. Though, he has a deadline to catch up to by early December, I would suggest he be left alone until after he's done with his business inshaallah. (I'm kind of being his warden now till he gets his work done)

So basically these are the steps:

1. Haylers A, B, C, D, etc compile the notes for their appropriate sections
2. Send those compiled notes to AbuHamzah for ahadith and ayats insertion
3. Send them for editing
4. Notes are put up on Moodle
5. Email is sent out to haylers announcing notes availability for study purposes
6. Study session announcement is conducted, reference point can always go to Moodle to look up notes, recorded study sessions, quizzes if there are any.


Just like was done for Rays of Faith, though the one leading the study session might want to collaborate with the person who puts up the notes on Moodle in maybe rearranging the dividing up of the notes according to how much the presenter is going to present the material per study session.

Farhan, you might have to cosy up to Moodle if Basil hasn't yet told you about it. (I'm assuming that you will be the one sending out emails to the Qabeelat)

Might want to ask Abdul Hadi about presenting etc since he conducted the study session last time. He also compiled the notes himself, and he edited them too. I think it was too much for one person to do all of that.

According to our strength. Abdul Hadi sab should not get involved in the notes directly because he's going to lead the study session.

This may not be efficient. I think Volkan has the best (already) typed notes. You may get the couple of people for other projects such as the newsletter. Please encourage the aunties (M.D.'s) [almost boggling my head] to contribute even a sentence.

Hmm deadline? well if the exam is going to be January 6, between now and then, it depends on when the commitee wants to start the study session (again, do we have a committee for this yet?), but the compilation should start well before that.

Ok, how about this:

Who wants to help compile the notes?
Please respond even if your notes are not complete (as you will be compiling, not just typing up your own notes by itself).

Right now we have :

Banu Tashfeen #4 - compilation
UmmSNHZ - editing
AbuSNHZ - insertion of ahadeeth & Quranic ayah
Abdul Hadi - conducting the study session (is this confirmed?)

Anyone else? Would be nice if we can get people responding ASAP so this would not drag on and merely be an 'idea'.

sorry I wasn't planning to tell anyone who I was, but then cuz no one else stepped up to do this, I decided I didnt care what anyone thought of what I wrote, and I edited my profile.

anyway, newsletter, compilation, whatever, I can do it (just not too much cuz I have exams soon) as long as I do not have to get out of my house because I cannot promise that I will be able to

I had the feeling that was going to be said.

Fevzy bhai is stuck waiting for Hamzah at Tuttle Park tonight. Hamzah has Street Hockey and Wrestling till 7:30 pm, so I doubt he'sgoing to see Abdul Hadi.

Ok then I think, to make things move faster, I'm going to email a couple of people and see if they would be willing to share their notes.

Meanwhile, do speak up (jazakillah khair aalia, sorry your cover was blown LOL) if you are willing to help out in this department, even if it's just sharing your notes.
