Re: Reminder Thread!
Oh son of Adam, you came from turab, and you return to turab.
You came sinless, and you return sinful.

Re: Reminder Thread!
Here's a little something I came across that really made me think:
- Always remember those who serve In the days when an ice cream sundae cost much less, a 10-year-old boy entered a hotel coffee shop and sat at a table. A waitress put a glass of water in front of him. "How much is an ice cream sundae?" he asked. "Fifty cents," replied the waitress. The little boy pulled his hand out of his pocket and studied the coins in it. "Well, how much is a plain dish of ice cream?" he inquired. By now more people were waiting for a table and the waitress was growing impatient. "Thirty-five cents," she brusquely replied." The little boy again counted his coins. "I'll have the plain ice cream," he said. The waitress brought the ice cream, put the bill on the table and walked away. The boy finished the ice cream, paid the cashier and left. When the waitress came back, she began to cry as she wiped down the table. There, placed neatly beside the empty dish, were two nickels and five pennies - You see, he couldn't have the sundae, because he had to have enough left to leave her a tip.

WINTER WONDERLAND "The best season to a believer is the winter, its nights are long for those who wish to pray, and its days are short for those who wish to fast" - Hasan Al Basri "It used to be said when winter came: O people of the Qur`an, the night has become long so you can pray (more) and the day has become short for you to fast" - Ubayd bin ‘Umayr (Ibn Al-Jawzi, Sifah Al-Safwah Vol. 2 p433)

Re: Reminder Thread!
`Aishah (May Allah be pleased with her) reported: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, "The one who is proficient in the recitation of the Qur'an will be with the honourable and obedient scribes (angels) and he who recites the Qur'an and finds it difficult to recite, doing his best to recite it in the best way possible, will have a double reward.''
[Al-Bukhari and Muslim] This is quite a well-known hadith that we have probably heard many, many times before. But have we ever really reflected on this verse? When you recite the Quran, you are rewarded. But when you have difficulty reciting it and still struggle to do so, you will have double reward In the AlHuda Taleem-al-Quran course, it was mentioned that imagine you get a job. One employee is very good at what he does and he gets a good salary. Another employee is not good at the job, he does it with difficulty, he struggles with it --so the boss tells him, you are working twice as hard so you will get double the salary! Could this ever be possible? I dont think any of us would ever imagine something like this!! Yet Allah is Most Generous and Most Merciful and we do not even realize. And if ever our boss did tell us we would get double salary, we would probably increase our efforts even more and more to get more and more money. And here we have the promise of Allah SWT, the PROMISE of Allah SWT, of what He will reward us with, if only if only we would make the smallest of efforts for His sake

Re: Reminder Thread!
Some gems from my Taleem ul Quran class today:
- Be true to Allah SWT and He will be true with you. We always expect things from Allah SWT yet we forget to fulfill our own part - Only fear Allah SWT. Take out the fear of other people's opinions from your heart, because often this fears holds us back from obeying the commands of Allah SWT. Free yourself of that fear and then you will be able to submit fully to Allah SWT and obey Him. Dont be concerned with what others might think of you. Your goal in life is to please Allah, not to please the world. Only when you fear the Creator more than the creation will you be able to put what He SWT wants over what you want or what others want - Accept the haqq as haqq, dont try to hide it or change it to suit your own desires - Prayer is the key to all treasures of the dunya and akhirah - How much do we love Allah and how much do we love to meet Him, to stand before Him? Think of the person you love most -imagine the happiness and excitement you feel when you are going somewhere to meet them. Now imagine when you are getting ready for salah --do we have even a fraction of that happiness and yearning to stand before Allah SWT? - If we were to stand in front of a king, would we stand with respect and awe or would we fiddle with our clothes and shift from foot to foot? How then should our behaviour be when we stand in salah in front of Allah? - Best prayer for women is in their homes. For men, always try your best to go pray in congregation in the mosque. If for some reason you are not able to go to the mosque, at the very least offer your prayer in congregation with your family. Remember of the companions the only ones who would intentionally stay home instead of coming for congregational prayer in the mosque were the munafiqeen and the sick - Zakat is not only to purify your wealth, but also to purify your heart and your imaan - Those who want to do good and have a good intention, Allah SWT will make the doing of good easy for them - Those who do not read fard salah, the nafl salah is very hard on them - Always remember the blessings of Allah SWT on you. The more you remember them, the more grateful you will always be, the more you will humble yourself before Allah SWT and the more you will love to submit and obey Him - Dont read the accounts of previous nations in the Quran as just a mention of history. Read them as warnings and lessons for your own life, learn from what they went through so you dont make the same mistakes as them - Those who warn others without first acting themselves, then their advice doesnt have effect - Nothing will save you on the Day of Judgement except Allah's Mercy and your deeds. No soul will be of any benefit to another. So what are we preparing for that Day? The journey is certain, your ticket has already been booked. So pack your bags accordingly..

Re: Reminder Thread!
The Signs of Fear of Allah (s.w.t):
Dear Muslim brothers and sisters We can find out whether we fear Allah or are oblivious of him through some simple tests. Here are some of them: The tongue informs us: if we talk evil, backbite and engage in frivolous gossip, it shows that there is very little concern. We should engage our tongues in the remembrance of Allah, in the recitation of the Quran and in circles of knowledge. In the heart we should expel hatred, enmity and jealousy and replace them with well-wishing and care for Muslims. We should be careful of what we put in our stomachs. Our eyes should not wander off to look at haram objects. Our feet should not walk towards haram places. We should not extend our hands for haram purposes. We should be concerned in our good deeds that we don't perform them for anyone else except Allah. ________________________________________ The Signs of Fear of Allah; Its Reasons; Its Fruits and Some Poems Imam Ghazali, Imam Ibn Qayyim and Ibn Rajab Hanbali ©1995 Al-Firdous Ltd., London

Some people are blessed with tests.
Other people are tested with blessings.
