The hurdle that then happens is that 'after' they have attended the first weekend, they brag to their friends about how awesome the course was ... but by that time it's too late. People keep missing the train because they get pumped up 'after' the train has left the station.

So ... I would like to make the testimonials and ambiance thread in each course folder. Simply type up your testimonials and what you thought was awesome about the course. Then, those new Qabeelahs that get this course ... all they have to do is come and view this thread, reading it top to bottom, and then they will have the motivational fuel they need to believe in what they encourage people to attend... BEFORE the seminar and not after.

Bismillah ... tell us what you loved about the Heavely Hues seminar, and it's ambiance

Thumbs up Re: Heavely Hues: Testimonials and Ambiance

The first thing that I noted is the crowd of young brothers and sisters. Masha Allah, when all over the world- the youths are gathered and lost themselves in worthless affairs of this world...here we can see the same age group striving for better position in aakhirah and learning their deen and especially ready to sacrifice their 'weekends' for that. May Allah bless all of the participants with more and more wisdom and knowledge to implement it in their life positively, Aameen.

The second thing I noted was the character/etiquette of Shaykh(may be Iam wrong in choosing the word..sorry). Often whenever we see an Imam or a scholar speaking for 15 minutes, (s)he will consume atleast 6 / 7 minutes in the slot to critisize someone or use someone's name for bad examples or even label them as (s)he pleases. But I saw Yaser brijas never using any man's / woman's name to defame them / create a bad image for them or even tried to nullify anyone's aqeedah or belief in action, even though he had more chances to put a lot as examples.

I remembered Yasir Qadhi's speech on 'allegiance under the tree'. In that incident, when Prophet (sal)'s camel stopped near the tree and the attempts to make it move failed, sahabas commented on its stubborn nature...but Prophet (sal) defended his camel, Kaswa and protecte her dignity. Yasir Qadhi used this action to tell us that this is the way to protect someone's dignity and humans carry more weight on that than camels. Masha Allah...How good the entire classroom was...filled only with positive aspects / notes / examples and no critisations or fatwas on anyone...Let's all learn from these shaykhs.

Words can never define the ambiance and the tranquility that surrounds AlMaghrib classrooms. Iam blessed to be one among the students. Subhanallah!!

Re: Heavely Hues: Testimonials and Ambiance

SubhanAllah...I've gone to so many lectures where the topic stresses the need for us, as Muslims, to strengthen our relationship with the Qur'aan. In the end, however, I walk away knowing and feeling the urgency of that task but am entirely unsure as to how to go about and achieve it. For me, THIS class completely changed that passive approach to understanding and reflecting over the words of Allah--or at least realizing that I've been stuck at that stage. With its awesome selection of themes--as well the methodology of it--you can't help but realize that there's nothing that is not covered in the book of Allah subhanawata'ala and that understanding the Qur'aan through a thematic approach opens the way to a more interactive relationship with it--you really can't pass that up!

Heavenly Hues is the most amazing course I've taken thus far at AlMaghrib Institute. JazakumAllahu khayr for offering it.

Assalam Alaikum
A huge Jazakallahu Khair to Shaykh Yaser Birjas for teaching this amazingly stupendously stupefying (sorry got a little carried away) seminar! I believe this is one of my all-time favorite classes!

Warning: This class will blow you away!

As I was driving, after the class, I felt an emptiness in my heart already. Whoever plans on taking this class, get ready for a life-changing experience. And don't let any of your friends miss it.. give them a blackeye! I mean give their excuses a blackeye!

Alhamdulillah, this was absolutely one of the best classes ever. No Doubt About It. If you wanna drink from a fountain of knowledge for 2 weekends, this is it.

I just wanna say jazakum Allahu khair to Shaykh Yaser Birjas and the volunteers for an amazing experience. May Allah reward you with a blessed life in this world and Jannatul Firdaws in the akhira.

Again, this class was awesome and very practical. I can't stress this enough. The Qur'an is truly a manual for our lives.

SubhanAllah this class truly demonstrates the fact that Islam is not just a religion, it's a way of life. I'm sure we barely touched on the number themes in the Qur'an, but yet they were so many, and so comprehensive. The Qur'an really does cover EVERYTHING! And the way Shaykh Yaser went into each theme was so amazing Mashaa'Allah. It felt like we were going so deep into each theme, and yet we knew this is just the beginning, there's so much more to learn and know- truly makes one realize how ignorant they are, especially about the Qur'an. There is definitely NO excuse for not taking this class- think of it as taking your relationship with the Word of Allah to a whole new level of experience.

Re: Heavely Hues: Testimonials and Ambiance

ِAlhamdullilah. This class far exceeded my expectations. I had no idea we would cover so much of the Quran. This class really helps to solidify whatever little knowledge we have acquired in previous Al-Maghrib courses. As we went through various topics (Aqeedah, Seerah, Fiqh, Love, etc) I had flash backs of previous courses. If you just look at the GEM thread, you can see just how amazing this course was. I think the views jumped up about 1300 in a 24 hour period from Sunday to Monday. That's just incredible.

The greatest thing about this seminar is that it gives you the exposure to Quran to really see that it is the Guidance we need in all facets of our lives. If one were to memorize the last portion of this course (Chapter 3), they would truly have the knowledge they need to implement the Quran in their life. We studied the attributes of those who are guided, to how we should treat our neighbors, to what we should look forward to in paradise, and so much more.

I see now how Thematic Studies facilitates this process of truly living the Quran and implementing it as we search for answers to questions in our lives. It shows us that whatever problem we have in life we can find the answers in Quran.

May Allah (swt) help us to implement the Quran in our lives.

Re: Heavely Hues: Testimonials and Ambiance

MashaAllah, every AlMaghrib seminar I have attended has been incredible and has affected me profoundly in so many ways. First, there’s the atmosphere, the professionalism and elegance, and the people with whom you share a love for the sake of Allah, that are really concerned about you, and whom with which you feel a brotherhood sometimes even stronger than your own blood brotherhood (and sisterhood of course). Top that with the outstanding manners and knowledge of the Shuyukh, and the pure 'ilm that is so gracefully being provided to you , and you have two awesome weekends. I really believe that communities that have been blessed with AlMaghrib really have a gift from Allah swt that they must thank Him for .
Alhamdulilah, this class, Heavenly Hues, surpassed my already high expectations of AlMaghrib and of Shaykh Yaser Birjas. I have taken several classes with him and every time, mashaAllah, he outdoes himself. HH made me see the Quran in a totally different light. There are surahs and ayahs that I have read innumerable times that I felt like I was reading for the first time during this class. I feel like since this class, everything means so much more to me, SubhannAllah. I reflect so much more when I hear the words of Allah swt and I feel like I can understand the Quran better and that it applies to ME personally. I feel so much more "in touch" with the Quran. I learned how to search the Book of Allah and how to run to the Quran whenever I need an answer for something. Yes, we "knew" all these things before, we’ve heard it being said that the Quran is a manual for our lives, even said all of these things when giving da'wah, however, did we really know how to apply what we know about the excellence of the Quran? I feel like this class was a first step to becoming closer to the Quran.
The Book of Allah is now more practical and affects my day to day life and I actually have a better relationship with the Quran. I can understand now subhanAllah how the Quran will be your companion in your grave, as much as it is part of your life. This class to me was definitely intensive carefor my eman!
