What is special about this course?




- This course will cover the lives of several scholars starting from 100 AH. None of the companions will be discussed because this is a separate course, so we will be discussing the tabi'een until the modern times. Through studying the lives of the scholars of each period of time, we see the consistency in their message.

- Some of the scholars we will learn about are:

Al-Hasan Al-Basree,
'Umar ibn 'Abdil 'Azeez,
Al-Imaam Al-Awzaa'ee,
Baqiyy ibn Makhlad,
'Abdil Ghanee Al-Maqdisee,
Faatimah As-Samarqandiyyah,
Zumurrud Jawlee,
Ibn Hajar,
Siddeeq Hasan Khan,
Shah Waliyyullaah Dahlawee,
and a surprise scholar whose name you have to figure out!

- Although this course is rich in amazing stories, it is not JUST stories. We will examine what made each scholar special and how we can personally relate to them. We will discuss events that occured in their times which shaped their lives. We will derive lessons from the lives of the scholars.

- For several scholars, I will mention their daily schedule and how they could accomplish so much in a short amount of time. You will also learn such details as the way they looked and dressed.

- I will also be answering some hot questions such as: Was ibn Hajar an Ash'aree? Was Al-Hasan Al-Basree a Sufee? If you want to make a change in your society, how can you make a change? How can you deal with fitnah of our days?


- There are lots of activities in this course: examinination of visual aides, competitions, worksheets, games and lots of interactive fun and learning, inshaa'Allaah.


- You will also be getting some speical gifts and surprises! I wonder if I should tell you about them now.

IMPORTANT:
There are some important ground rules that I need all students to keep in mind while we study the lives of the scholars. Inshaa'Allaah, Sr. Sara will be posting the twenty ground rules for the class, five being launched weekly. These are rules we have to follow when we study the lives of the scholars, so I encourage everyone to become familiar with these rules before the class.

WOW! MashaAllah, the list of scholars here is completely different from the ones that we learned in Torch Bearers taught by Sh. Saed, with the exception of Faatimah As-Samarqandiyyah... I'm so excited!!! I can't wait till Qabeelah Tayybah gets this class so I can get round 2 of Torch Bearers, InshaAllah...

I wonder who the suprise scholar is? I hope its Abdullah bin Mubarak(rahimullah) inshaAllah! Can we vote on it? The gems from the canada class on him were awesome and his name always comes up when you talk about his time period.
There isn't enough material in english on the tabieen and taba tabieen.
