Question Who can take this?!

Assalamualikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh,

To those qabaill who already had this class: were you able to market this class to non-muslims? If so, how and with what kind of results?

If not, after taking the class, do you feel this would be a good dawah opportunity?

I ask because I feel this would be a good course to invite non-muslims to, especially since it is offered from the Dept of Islamic History (market it as a history class) and given the recent media publications about the Prophet Muhammad (SW).

Jazakum Allah khair

Welcome BANU NOOR

Narrated by 'Abdullah bin Mas'ud: The Prophet (SW) said,
"Do not wish to be like anyone except in two cases. (The first is) A person, whom Allah has given wealth and he spends it righteously; (the second is) the one whom Allah has given wisdom (the Holy Qur'an) and he acts according to it and teaches it to others."

Wa Alaikum Assalam Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatu

Evidently, mashaAllah, this class is indeed for Muslims and NonMuslims alike.

It shows the beautiful character of the Prophet salAllahu alayhi wa sallam, his justice, his kindness, his generosity and his gentleness - providing an insight into the mercy of mankind, the best of creation.

We had a couple of NonMuslims take the class - mashaaAllah - two of which accepted Islaam!

Wa Salamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatu

With wisdom you understand zuhd (abstinence) and are granted its benefits. With zuhd comes abandoning the world. With abandoning the world comes desire for the Hereafter. With desire for the Hereafter the pleasure of Allaah – the Mighty and Majestic – is obtained."
