I hope that they will return this section on the AlMaghrib website. I implore others who have taken this class to likewise post what was beneficial or suggested by the instructor.

Rabbana Zidna 'ilma!
Ameen!

Looking at these book titles made me drool

OK, just to add to the above one thing...

in regards to audio, if you go on google and search "evolution of Fiqh Abu Ameenah" and scroll down, you will find a site called ilmulyaqeen and they have a 9 part video/audio lecture by Abu Ameenah about the evolution of fiqh...

I am so sad that I wasn't able to join you all for TCE.
inshaAllah Qabeelat Haadi will get it soon!

please please don't stop with the GEMS. I am loving them!

Re: Reference Books for TCE

I do not advise brothers/sisters to read this book by Jasser Auda due to its content. He attempts to deconstruct the sharia as we know it. I attended a lecture of his last Friday and he had some extremely dangerous things to say such as we need to revise the Islam. He divided Islam into Ibaadaat (salah, zakah etc) and Muaamalaat (rights of the creation such as marriage, punishment etc). And he said that the spirit/aim of the sharia is in muaamalaat can change. So the concept of ribaa, punishments (huddod)in Islam etc are no longer applicable. This clearly goes against many texts of the Quran and Sunnah.

This is a very extremely delicate subject and the only ones who should discuss these topics are scholars and not simply students of knowledge. I have seen many students of knowledge who have made very strange conclusions because of their lack of understanding of this topic. The only reason why I bring this up is because I have studied this topic in some detail with a shaykh a number of times.

Here are some lectures on the correct understanding of this topic.
