Question about reciprocative attributes

Are all reciprocative attributes NOT attributes of Allah (swt)?

Also, myself and some brothers came up with a nice alternative name for this category, as was brought up in class....how about:

Conditional Attributes?

Re: Question about reciprocative attributes

you answered your question, they are conditional attributes, They are attributes of Allah but with conditions not free to ascribe to Allah as general. So Allah Plots only against those who plot, etc.. Wallahu a3lam....

Re: Question about reciprocative attributes

Actually, what I meant to ask was, can we say that none of the reciprocative attributes can be made into NAMES of Allah (swt)?

Re: Question about reciprocative attributes

Yes because if we make them as names of Allah then that would make them unconditional when in reality they aren't, because Allah's names are always accompanied with the eternal meaning, wallahu a3lam. This is why deriving names for Allah is so ridged and that is why the opinion which held that we can derive a name for Allah through any verse which denoted any action by Allah is flawed and a weaker opinion.

Re: Question about reciprocative attributes

In other words, we cannot use allah's conditional attributes as his names. They are only used by Allah in response to something negative that occurs. Fo example, the evildoers plot and so Allah plots against them.

However, the names of Allah are those of only positive and perfect meanings. Clearly the plotter can have a negative meaning and thus cannot be attributed to Allah.
