Durbah Manners - Codemnation of Strutting

Assalamu Alaikum,

Let this post serve as a reminder to us all to be humble as we have many reasons to be...sometimes our "Durbah Pride" lets us all get carried away.

I am sure the other Qabeelah are not half as nearly amused as we are with our posts...I am probably the biggest offender...my apologies and may Allah forgive me...



Condemnation of strutting



Allah forbids His servants to strut and walk in a boastful manner:



[وَلاَ تَمْشِ فِى الاٌّرْضِ مَرَحًا]



(And walk not on the earth with conceit and arrogance.) meaning, walking in boastful manner and acting proud, like those who are arrogant oppressors.



[إِنَّكَ لَن تَخْرِقَ الاٌّرْضَ]



(Verily, you can neither rend nor penetrate the earth) means, you cannot penetrate the earth with your walking. This was the opinion of Ibn Jarir.



[ذَلِكَ مِمَّآ أَوْحَى إِلَيْكَ رَبُّكَ مِنَ الْحِكْمَةِ وَلاَ تَجْعَلْ مَعَ اللَّهِ إِلَـهًا ءَاخَرَ فَتُلْقَى فِى جَهَنَّمَ مَلُومًا مَّدْحُورًا ]

(39. This is (part) of Al-Hikmah (wisdom) which your Lord has revealed to you. And set not up with Allah any other god lest you should be thrown into Hell, blameworthy and rejected (from Allah's mercy).)

as a fellow qabeelat, i have to love you guys

and i just kind of took it with a crooked smile and rolling eyes, but honestly, it was sooo annoying

one or two would have been all right, but SO many? (especially when say in a thread you had someone talking about something serious or a personal problem, then that comes in)

Thank you for that realization & advice, mr espy. The first one [Pro-Durbah post by Al-Baraa] was funny, and then it got annoying. The posts have made it hard to tell which thread has something new and which is just ... spammed? right word? Anyhow if you're having the same problem, try logging out and logging in again. Is there a better solution? Perhaps they can be deleted?

Alhamdu lillah, we're all pumped for the exam. 105 is our target inshaa' Allah. Ustaadh Muhammad taught us in the class to aim "beyond the board" ... to aim for Jannatul Firdaws. This is what we are doing. At last night's review session, we set 105 as out target. We're all pumped up. We pray you all can get as pumped up as we are right now (if that's possible) Don't be irritated or annoyed, we're getting each other super-max pumped up. It's not strutting, so don't take it as such. If it was done

.... Wait ... now I see that this was done in the threads for ALL the tribes. That is annoying/irritating. Guys, let's chillax (chill + relax). Keep the pumping up in the Durbah threads, please. If the Admins want to remove those "pump-up" posts from the other non-Durbah threads, go ahead inshaa' Allah.
