ماس in arabic means diamond
ماسis not a complete word in Arabic
diamond in Arabic is ألماس , the alif-lam at the begining of the word is a part of the word itself , and it is not the definite article 'The'. In other words, it's not ( ال-التعريف)Thus it would be wrong to say that 'maas' means diamond
Wallaahu ta3ala a3lam

-some one correct me if i am wrong

Re: what does your name mean?

So i think it's better if you refer to yourselves as Qabeelat Almaas
not qabeelat mass and not even Qabeelat al-Mass (ya3ni do not include the dash)

I agree.... Qabeelat Almaas as the word is already in its indefinite form.

but otherwise a very nice name btw... i secretly hoped for this name once I heard Sh Muhammad called you a Diamond qabeelah, but didn't want to interfere once you picked Ikhlaas.
