[boy i really hope we're going to touch this topic in the seminar!!]

i noticed a thread or two springing up about this topic and so i wanted to start this thread just as an encouragement for those sisters who are ready but just need a little push...

SO..
why is the niqaab so cool? let's list as many reasons as we can:

1. if a sister is sincere, she can be sure Allah will love her (ooohhh!)
2. our beloved mothers, the wives of the Prophet sallallahu 'alayhi wa sallam wore it!
3. in snowy new york, EVERYONE wants to be a niqaabi!
4. little kids call you ninja!

so, guys or gals, what else is so cool about the niqaab?

As a brother, I'm just guessing:

1. More respected, meaning guys don't steal glances at niqabis like they do at hijabis and non-hijabis. I see it all the time, heck sometimes they even stare... while you're talking to them!

2. It's something that can be hard to do for some sisters, so I suspect the benefit is also enormous, Allahu Allim.

3. Just like anything good, your action will make it that much easier for the next person to do inshaAllah!

4. If a niqabi ever goes over seas to a country where women are expected to wear niqab she won't be that one person who is struggling & fumbling with the material lol

walaikum assalam

why the niqab is so cool? here's my random list.

1- bcoz you get a lot more weirder stares than in hijab. and a wonderful da3wah oppurtunity

2-bcoz it puts a barrier btw yourself and the fitan around

3-protects you from men who just dont know how to lower their gaze (this one is special for muslim men)

4- you actually help muslim men in lowering their gaze

5- sunnah of ummahtul mu3mineen. you feel closer to them than ever subhanAllah

6-you fell like you're this precious diamond only meant for 'him' to see.

7-it protects you from the sun

8-you can feel Allah's love and protection for you

9- it's a constant reminder- you'll think twice or more before doing something.

10- you can wear make up . just not on your eyes lol

lol that one made me laugh because I know of a sis who does that.

Why is it so cool?

Cuz you can match with your friends and actually look like twins!

Reminds me of some Free Friday niqaabi confusion.

although it is very thoughtful of you, but vitamin deficiency has not been reported by any niqabis so far alhamdulillah. Besides, I'm sure sisters have windows intheir homes where sunlight can reach them in the summer and spring seasons, also have a backyard where they can go without the niqab and absorb some healthy sun. Also it doesn't have to be the face that is absorbing, but the hands compensate for the amount of absorption needed. That's why my hands are much darker than my face. The amount of sunlight needed for this type of vitamin D is very little. So sisters take care of yourselves and get warm in the sun!

actually most people are vit D deficient, (middle easterners at least), and its been tied to increased cardiovascular disease risks and death. Take your vit D supplements everybody

Niqab is cool b/c no one would be able to tell when your exhausted

it's also cool because you just need to scrunch your eyes a certain way and people think you're smiling
