wow sis bint! masha-Allah... mabrooks on starting niqaab so recently! what was the last straw? was it a long thought out process or spur of the moment thing that was said and done so quickly? may Allah make you and all our niqaabi sisters here firm on it and reward you loads and loads, aameen

about eating with niqaab.... i donno guys, maybe we should start a whole new thread about that? i have some crazy stories lol..

and masha-Allah to you too sis um! insha-Allah when you do it for good you'll know why it makes the rest of us so content alhamdulillah but i must say, you're already a real inspiration to me, being that you reverted to Islam.. i'd love to know your story of coming to the deen if you don't mind sharing it

A sister and I had a discussion during 'Ilmfest when we were at a restaurant....zipper niqabs that open just enough at the mouth :P LOL!!! [img]images/icons/icon10.gif[/img]

Niqaab is cool because ::.....::

#1 REASON: brings one closer to Allah SWT. May He who we veil for remove His veil in the Aakirah for us so we can see Him.

--->constant reminder for self (and thus avoiding sin) and others (encouraging other sister, helping brothers lower gaze)
--->smile as wide as you want
--->I can make fishy faces in the subway :P
--->initiates curiosity from muslims and non-muslims alike
--->its the coolest thing seeing at an almaghrib seminar seeing the sisters who wear niqab sitting together..its beautiful
--->there's just a different connection you have with other sisters who wear niqaab...

there's one thing i read online once.. it was from a brother whose wife wore niqaab.. he said something like:

"there's no way to describe how it feels to have a wife that is exclusively mine.. who no one else has the right or the privilege to see but me.. it makes her all the more special to me"

Not when you are trying to catch a bus at night

1.Honestly one of the coolest reasons is that you know that you might look like Aisha RA, or Hafsa RA and the rest of omahaat al moslimeen, radiyallahu 'anhom.

2. No one gets offended if you don't attend their mixed wedding...cause they just know

3. For some reason, non muslim men either completely stay away from you, or are extremely helpful and respectful.

4. If you have a runny nose in the cold, you are all covered

5. It really, really, really protects you and the brothers and helps in lowering the gaze. Alhamdulilah for that.

6. and it's kinda cool when someone thinks you are a superhero, or thinks you're Dust from X-men.

This is what I witnessed from sisters who wear niqab.
