Talking Charity money raised at TSP

Aslamalaikum all,

Before I start I would like to apologise for the delay in starting this thread (but I like the rest of you had to revise for the exam toooo!)

The total money raised for our chosen charity PAFRAS (positive action for refugees and asylum seekers) at the shepherds path was:

Brothers---------------------------------------£111.32

Sisters----------------------------------------£289.24

Donation by a very generous doctor (brother)---£360

Giving a grand total of £760.56!!

This money will inshallah be handed over to PAFRAS very soon.

In addition to this we also asked for money to be used social projects and to sponsor scholorships (to pay for students who cannot afford to attend the seminars).

The total amount raised for this was

Brothers-----------------------------------------£126.63

Sisters-------------------------------------------£188.48

Cake sales (sisters only)------------£247.47

Giving a grand total of £562.58

We are thinking of many different social projects to get involved in ad would appreciate your thoughts on whate we could and should do.

Jazakallah for all your generous donations

Question Re: Charity money raised at TSP

This is a good start for Qabeelat AlMass. Insha'Allah look forward to organising many social projects in the near future.

I would like to set up a soup kitchen for homeless and refugees alike, how do we go about setting something like this?

Re: Charity money raised at TSP

There are a number of organisations that currently provide such a service in Bradford. I have spoken to one of them and we could easily join forces with them. They have approx 15-20 people attending for the free meals on a regular basis. People currntly attending are only homless and those who have fallen on hard times.
An idea would be to speak to people at PAFRAS to see how we could help.

I am really trying to find out other ways and means of making a difference, if this service is already availabe should we do something similar or completely different?
I have set up a special thread for this and as yet no one has replied!!!

Jazakallah for your thoughts
