In my experience working with Muslim communities and doing DiscoverU events, I've discovered the following:
* There is an INTENSE emotional blame on money as being the cause of our problems. Money is just a magnifier of what's in our hearts. If our hearts are sincere, money will magnify the good we can do. If our hearts are corrupt, money will magnify the harm we might do. * The financial crisis is something that Muslims are deeply concerened about and are affected by. Some people think there is a contradiction between being religious and being financially independant. That comes from ignorance of Islam. But this ignorance led this topic to be sidelined in Muslim circles, and so Muslims went to the non-Muslims for financial education, non-Muslims who did not take into account Allah's commandments. I ask you: who out there is teaching us how to NOT compromise our Hereafter yet still be financial leaders? The Millionaire who went to Jannah is not about Fiqh of business transactions, and it's not about how to purchase a house with a 35 year debt. It's about real-world financial mastery strategies, hand in hand with the necessary Islamic money beliefs. If you are interested in learning more about the event, please visit: www.DiscoverULife.com/millionaire Your are welcome to post your testimonials, questions, and hype-ness in thie thread, in sha Allah. |

BimiLlah,
Assalamu 'Alaykum, I remember you mentioning this title in BoC in Calgary when you were talking about that only 2 people come for dhuhr, a jobless Muslim and a millionaire!

When I seek out a learning opportunity, I first analyze to the best of my ability what is being taught. If I am interested I will then look at when/where it is taking place and if I'm able to attend. And thirdly I will see how much it costs and whether the learning opportunity can be accomplished with something less expensive. Notice in this train of thought, money is the last item of consideration, not the first. I have a question: What money problems do you see yourself or the people around you having? For example: a problem one brother brought up is that people will get credit cards, swipe-swipe-swipe all month without consciousness of what is being spent, and then at the end of the month when they get their paycheck they just hope, I repeat HOPE, that they have enough to pay whatever the amount comes out to be. What money problems do you see for yourself or the people around you? |

Re: The Millionaire who went to Jannah
assalaamu 'alaikum,
when I hear this title, I immediately think of 'Abdurrahman ibn 'Awf, who was told he would go to Jannah, crawling, despite his wealth...perhaps the course would include a case study/ies of companions such as him? |

Re: The Millionaire who went to Jannah
As salaam aleykum Brother Muhammad Alshareef,
I swear by Allah, I believe if you would do 'The millionaire who went to Jannah' in the uk, London or Birmingham, more people would be interested than in Canada and more people would attend and more people would be willing to pay money. I believe we in the uk dont moan about how expensive it is! We dont make excuses saying we dont have time. We put the money on table and make time! Lol, with other words, we are a better customers/audience, how ever u wanna call it, i believe, so why dont you give us a chance? Can you also do that Event in the Uk for once?!?! Pleaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaase!!! I flew in from the uk, for one of your other events and i swear by Allah i would have gone to this one, if i would have known about it, before, cause i would have been able to save. But to make matters easier for the Uk muslims, why is everything you do, except Almaghrib, always in Canada? Can't you come to the uk with these kind of events? That would save us people in the uk the flight and a lot of money. Cause, not only do we pay for the course, but we also pay for flying to Canada. And more important than that, is the fact that we have to arrange holidays and time off at work or university to go to these kind of events. If it was in the uk, it would have been easier. Otherwise can't you for example, make the fees less for people who fly to canada for your courses, from far away countries? It just makes me soooooooooooooooooooooooooooo sad, when i see these events, that i dont live in Canada. I have cousins living living in canada..and i even joked to my mom..mom this muhammad alshareeef course is sooooooooooooo good, i have to call my cousins in canada and tell them to go and if they aint willing to pay, i will pay for them!! Mom told me i was mad! Anyways..brother muhammad alshareef, we love the work you do outside Almaghrib..these events, can't you come for onceeeeeeeeeeeeee to the uk, with these kind of events? Was salaam aleykum. |

Re: The Millionaire who went to Jannah
Mashallah Samira, I love your enthusiasm. May your duas be answered.
Many of us also thought that an event in the UK would be the perfect solution, and yes for some it may turn out to be. For me, I learnt by going over to Canada that 'we don't always know what is good for us.' Yes it costs more to go to Canada, and one has to arrange a mahram and all of these things. But when I asked Sheikh Muhammad if the certification was going to be in the UK I am glad his answer was no. Why? Travelling proved to be a great experience, and even more so with a mahram. Canada is a beautiful country. I met some wonderful sisters, and maybe an event in the UK would not have attracted the same crowd. Also by the time you start your course you have already sacrficed alot to be there (you didn't just get on the train in the morning) and so I think this makes your experience sweeter. And may Allah grant you whatever is best for you. Ameen. |

Re: The Millionaire who went to Jannah
You know since the first day i heard about this event, i said to myself... "you know what this is a MUST attend seminar"... I looked at my schedule and seemed like it wouldn't have fit in..
But now alhumduilllah, not only will i be coming to millionaire seminar but i am looking forward to coming to more seminars more often, not only are these seminars beneficial, but they DEFINITELY help you attain what you set your mind to. It's like laying out a path for you, and you just walk upon it creating your possibilities, i.e, you have a business plan (which i had for the longest time), but never knew where to start and how to place my foot in the market, it is because of seminars like these that Alhumdulillah by the mercy of ALlah(swt) i run a successful business. i am VERY MUCH so forward looking to this march (almost cannot wait)...And oh yes about taking this to Canada, I would imagine there is a much bigger PURPOSE as to why they are in canada and not in the Uk... For Canadians (many of us) are diligent on the fact that we don't have money, we don't have finances, etc.. etc.. [excuses], seminars such as this drive you away from such thought, and help you focus on the VALUE of knowledge being passed down, and how it will benefit you. |
