Re: The Millionaire who went to Jannah

Here's a tip, simple as it may be:
Log into your online banking, CONSISTENTLY.
Get a hard cold look at what you are faced with.

So many students I know, and young employees, don't face their bank account statement because it's too painful. So they bury their head in the sand and pretend like it'll go away. (And it will, all of it)

Usually people only find out about their bank account statement when an overdrawn notice/penalty arrives in the mail.

What other real-life problems do face, as students or young employees?

This program sounds great masha’Allah. I just have a question,

would this program still be recommended to a person who is financially stable? I know of many brothers in this case. I am thinking if I should advertise.

alhamdulillah,
When I ask people how they identify themselves, when someone says "I'm a student" I look at them and say, "And your broke right?"

The reason I say that is when people say student they, in their mind, associate that with being broke.

So, try this first: As an entrepreneur student ... and keep asking your questions by introducing yourself like that...

(thats just a little distinction. There are many other tips ...)

That's a great question Mahmoud.
Money is a metaphor for many things in our lives. If for example someone is a "loser" when it comes to money, chances are he is a "loser" in other aspects of his life.

If someone is a "winner" when it comes to money, chances are:
1. He might not know how to emotionally deal with money, and may feel guilty for having it.
2. He might be stable (great descriptive word which means he is ok, but not super great), and that he really hasn't planned for the hard times.

When I studied the issue of money, it was actually a huge EmanRush for me. because money is so closely tied to religion, the "evil" that people think comes from money. One has to reconcile their Deen with their Dunya.

But lets say all of this is not what someone needs, that they are already awesome in the money category, then I would suggest that they look into Lifecoaching program that happens the day after this event. It's focused on leadership and building bonafide leaders. Very intense.

I think this psychological problem many people have, even with homework sometimes I think "man this is impossible / too much, i don't even wanna look at it", how do you combat this problem?

wa alaykum as salam,
Well definitely avoiding it is not going to make it smaller. It'll just make it more painful.

I would honestly hook someone like that up with a Lifetrainer, one on one, set some weekly outcomes, bite sized steps everyday, and within 2-3 days the clouds will clear.

We make things much larger then they really are.

If you haven't RSVP'd for tonights' Ilminar "You Have Got to Have It Before You Can Give it", then do so at: http://discoverulife.com/blog/?p=33

I'm putting things together for the Ilminar, and it's going to be, in sha Allah, spectacular. My heart is pumping with excitement at what I'm going to share, in sha Allah.

Re: The Millionaire who went to Jannah

I'm looking for a hadith, if someone can help me find it:

The hadith is about a companion who went to the market with one dinar of the Prophets to purchase a sheep for him, and then came back with the sheep and the dinar.

Can someone quote the hadith?

Is this the hadith you were looking for-

3378

Narrated Urwah ibn AbulJa'd al-Bariqi: The Prophet (peace_be_upon_him) gave him a dinar to buy a sacrificial animal or a sheep. He bought two sheep, sold one of them for a dinar, and brought him a sheep and dinar. So he invoked a blessing on him in his business dealing, and he was such that if had he bought dust he would have made a profit from it.

3380

Narrated Hakim ibn Hizam: The Apostle of Allah (peace_be_upon_him) sent with him a dinar to buy a sacrificial animal for him. He bought a sheep for a dinar, sold it for two and then returned and bought a sacrificial animal for a dinar for him and brought the (extra) dinar to the Prophet (peace_be_upon_him). The Prophet (peace_be_upon_him) gave it as alms (sadaqah) and invoked blessing on him in his trading.

Both in Sunan Abu Dawood, book 22.
