SubhanAllah, may Allah have mercy on Shaykh Al-Albaani! I love his books and how meticulous he is with the narrations of the Prophet sal Allahu alayhi wa sallam. Makes you love him rahimahullah and the ahadith.

I recently saw a nice video about him on youtube...search: The Humility of Shaykh Al albani (it has english translation).

they have a whole section for his books at the Dar us Salam bookstore...I had to take a picture:

I also love the work of shaykh ibn Uthaymeen rahimahullah. His books are amazing. He explains ayat and hadith so clearly in an easy to understand way and still retains the beauty of the ayah/hadith.

Another favorite contemporary scholar of mine is Dr Saleh as Saleh rahimahullah. He is someone that has studied from great scholars (student of Shaykh ibn Uthaymeen) AND he has resources in English. I love his lectures and his articles, may Allah have mercy on him. Dr Saleh as Saleh rahimahullah has a MASSIVE collection of resources: from the Authentic Names and Attributes of Allah, to tafseer of Qur'an, to explanation of hadith books such as Riyad Saliheen and 40 hadith Nawawi, to women's issues, to basic tenents of salah. His website is understand - islam dot net.

Re: Your favourite scholars?

Assalamu Alaikum.

I love all of the scholars, for they all strived to make the truth manifest.

As for contemporary scholars, my favorite has to be Hafiz Abu Tahir Zubair Ali Za'i. He authenticated all of the Four Sunan just four years ago. Sometimes he agrees with and in other occasions disagrees with Shiekh Al-Albani in the gradings of certain Ahadith. Refer to the following link:

Wassalamu Alaikum.
