Poet-off 2 :) - ya'all ready - READ RULES
POET-OFF ROUND 2
After Massive Success of the first Poet-OFF mashAllah, here is ROUND 2. RULES 1.) Gender Relations - Please know the limits, and do not cross the line. 2.) DO NOT make it Personal - Do not make it personal, poetry is something beautiful alhumdulillah, keep it beautiful , if someone says something, please take it on a lighter note.3.) Keep it FUN - on an average 10 people viewed the last POET-OFF, and the reason being because it was AWESOME to read. Alhumdulillah. 4.) STAY ON THE TOPIC - Please if you don't got rhymes, then do not make a comment that will change the topic entirely, and create side conversations. 5.) COMMENTS - Only make comments that will bring benefit, i.e MashAllah you really know how to drop rhymes. etc.., so say something nice about the poem every now and then. You will see it helps the writer increase their potential. LETS START p.s extra points for dissin TAYYBAH and SHAMS (keep the smack clean tho plz) |

Re: Poet-off 2 :) - ya'all ready - READ RULES
bismillah
Abu Khattab is back ... sayin take that, dropping rhymes to initiate the minds, hoping dreams, would one day depress the mines, the mines of our minds, that blow up thinking why we droppin so many dimes, only to supress, that which cannot be pressed, so much to express in this lyrical mess, mind cannot comprehend the pain that is suffered by the heart, the body cannot speak for the mind is lost, so why do we sit here, why do we stand and just talk, drop, walk yet not once can we think what presses our minds? yet aint it funny how it pains our hearts? i see the pain my heart feels, regret it sure conceals, i ignore and i walk, just cuz all this time i thought, i thought what will depress the mines of our minds? hopefully, i m hopefull to create the lines so i can drop more rhymes, to help those who feel such pain, to help those who got not gain, they got no game, they got no planes, no cars, no water, but they sure got something we dont, they got heart but why then does this mind of mine presses, such critical mines, that blow up, creating ideological, n hypothetical cases, that everything is just fine? why? |

mashaAllah Umer...i'm just discovering your alter-ego "Abu Khattab" lool.
Here's something I wrote in 2006. I think you guys might like it. Supposed To Be A Sister She knows her true faith but it kills her to admit it Christianity was easy, now she'll have to be comitted The threshold seems overbearing, she doesn't know the half She doesn't know that crossing it will only make her laugh At the simplicity, of the life she will lead I don't mean to mislead, but without it she will not proceed She read the Quran many times, cover to cover All the while, keeping her discoveries undercover She doesn't like notions of keeping hair under covers But she really wants to get to heaven She tries hard to find the right path in life But her mind and her heart are forever in strife Her parents tell her to pray to Jesus Christ Her logic tells her that something isn't right That something needs to change in her life Something to make her look nice, a new outfit A new outlook, a facelift, maybe plastic surgery Anything material would be an act of perjury Because her mind needs a change of heart Before all her sense departs, in different directions Everyone is giving her different injections Do this, do that, do the third, flip the world the bird Still she knows of those truthful words That both her mind and her heart prefer She's coming close to uttering, she's stuttering Her thoughts are cluttering, she's trying to find peace of mind She feels blind for a second and finally speaks truthfully "There is no God worthy of worship but He And upon Muhammad, he delegated prophecy" She blacks out temporarily, falls to her knees "Thank you God, now my soul is at ease" Now she breathes easily, and cries so freely What took place, was always meant to be All the time i knew her, i could easily see Who one of my best friends was always supposed to be She was supposed to be a sister to me, and now what She's no longer just a person to me, she's a Muslim queen Someone who's finally free, thank God, and to God, she's up there in degrees Peace!

Dedicated to Namarig
Put aside your pride Set down your arrogance And remember your grave. - Ali (radi Allahu ‘anhu) Umar asked Ubayy what Taqwa meant and how many of us could relent at such a reply – roll up your sleeves, gather your garments, and struggle. Our hearts may run dry, run out of their iman-supply our eyes stray, our minds make their homes in the sky, amongst clouds, but on this path of thorns and dusk, straying earns Allah’s Wrath. So can we afford to not step lightly around these thorns? The angel’s lips are on his horn – waiting for al-Qiyyama. Are you ready for The Reality? Can you hold yourself steady when that breath is your last? Are you holding fast to the rope of Allah? Remember your shroud – will it wrap up your arrogance and hide it from Allah? Allah sees through the cloud you create, through the proud words of hate so in return, what do you anticipate? Allah’s Sovereignty, Al-Mulk should make a home in your heart before it departs from the deception of this world. Tear apart your attachment to this life, for the grief of the hereafter is heavier than a knife to the back. Laughter would cease if we but knew – and weeping increase, if we but knew. I want my book in my right hand; so I understand His plan is beyond my scope, and my palms hold on to hot coals, hold on to His rope. Like Imam-al-shafi’i, I’m building hope and a stairway of mercy to You, Oh Allah. Repent for not struggling, my soul. Nothing can fill this hole in my heart except Jannah.

By Bothayna and an anonymous sista
You ask why to a question too deep to explore Many people have these questions, but they drop it to the floor When the heart and the mind are not on the same page We tend to place delusions and illusions on the stage When the mind sits and contemplates We forget our Creator is the one that holds our fate When the heart sits and feels those emotions We forget to take words of the Most High and put them to motion So yes, we may pain Again and again And at times we might think it would drive us insane What in this dunya will help us remain? Holding on to the rope of Alrahman and not complain? Hassan al-Basri said, “Son of Adam, you are nothing but a collection of days” Why then do we make these situations put us in a daze? Asking to be guided on the seeratal mustaqeem, yet we’re running in a maze Our goals and objectives to please the Most High Covered in a haze As I sit here and think… This world is just One Long … Blink Why then, do we allow ourselves to sink?

Re: Poet-off 2 :) - ya'all ready - READ RULES
Wake up every morning, day by day
It's 4 am and I gotta pray My eyes are weak I cannot speak My mouth feels like it wants to shriek I make wudhu and make Khushoo Then I pray like today was my last on Earth Duhr was even harder than it used to I was distracted and acted like I had something to do My mind was cluttered My stomach was fluttered And I couldn’t even concentrate one little bit So I made wudhu and I made khushoo And asked Allah to help me through All the troubles I had while I pray And I didn't want to be lead astray So I held my head high And I started to cry Because my heart began to realize Allah doesn't look at your wealth He looks at the strength of your health So you can reside in Paradise FOR THE REST OF YOUR AFTERLIFE! Follow this advice, I’m sayin’ it twice Or else, you’ll be absurd and fail in life WORD!

Re: Poet-off 2 :) - ya'all ready - READ RULES
k so first of all lemme jus say that u all are sooooo talented mashAllah...so don't ever stop being inspired and don't ever stop writing down your inspirations
. ya'll are awesome!!!that being said...i'm a first timer so go easy on me ![]() Every morning covered in black I leave my house hoping to come back But Allah knows best when my soul shall depart So Bismillahi Thawakalth I repeat in my heart Everyday I see the stares Their eyes speaking to me with their glares But not a single day do I regret Cloaking myself in order to protect Protect me from the eyes of those Who do not see the chastity beneath my clothes Who do not know the humility I attempt to possess Who cannot understand that my life is a test A test to earn the pleasure of He He who with love has created me So for Him I refrain from adorning myself To distract any attention I attract to myself I can bear with the stares and the scornful looks But I cannot bear the punishment of the One who overlooks I can bear the heat of the long summer days But the eternal fire keeps me steadfast in my ways So Alhamdulillah for my Abaya and Hijab Alhamdulillah that I believe in one God Alhamdulillah that I have the chance to protect And the chance to seek the pleasure of the One who knows best |
