you can argue the same about make-up.. that you can only see it up close (no one wears blotches upon blotches of blush... i hope..).. but the purpose of the two is the same, it makes you prettier, even if the brothers aren't walking around seeing who has prettily decorated hands.. and i think it's pretty much agreed that make-up in public isn't allowed, so why not follow suit?

i agree... it takes the same ruling as makeup.

solution: raise the price a little, and give a pair of gloves with each henna treatment

I wouldn't say it's as visible as makeup. Makeup on some can be spotted from miles away...literally. It might take the same ruling, Allahu Alam, but as far as visibility goes, I wouldn't say it's the same. Unless I'm thinking of something else.

^ Just saying, if you wear a glove after applying wet henna, wouldn't it mess up the design you put on the hand & defeat the purpose of letting it dry to have a nice design?

solution: have a sisters tent for henna designs

it's really not that light.. the good ones start off almost black, so the paler the skin the starker the contrast.. with time it fades to (sorry girls, it's true) an ugly orange, and that's when it's less visible

imagine if you were a vendor and a sister had to hand you money, you simply can't miss all the intricacy in her hands and even me, being a girl, would think "whoa, her hands look really gorgeous" so.. we should want to protect our brothers from that fitna.. and that's what i'm taking my opinion on

lol Zahra, i enjoyed the tangent...interesting view point, never thought of it like that, though the men in my family find henna disgusting, my cousins since they were little wouldn't even play with us if we had it on.
