If you don't keep in touch with your family members, you feel something is missing, for they are your blood. Make sure you talk to them in person, and if not possible, talk with them over the phone, and if not possible, over email, but don't lose touch.

If you don't keep in touch with your Lord, you feel everything is missing, for He is your Creator. Make sure you pray to him while standing, and if not possible, then while sitting, and if not possible, then while lying down, but don’t lose your Divine Link.

Prayer helps us to do good, we remember that we are returning to face Allah(swt) in prayer. Imagine: you know that you just committed something that displeases Allah(swt), and then its time for prayer and you stand before Allah(swt)--- you do feel guilty,, but the bad action shouldnt turn you away from prayer because Allah(swt) is the Most Forgiving

When the Prophet salallahu alaihi wa salaam was doing salatul istisqa (for rain) he then took his garments and put them inside out. Why? He said, "Ya Allah change our situation like we have changed our clothing."

How long does it take you change your clothes? How easy is it done? How different does a person look when he changes his clothes?

Likewise the intervention of Allah is quicker, He only says "kun" and it is, and He 'azzawajal can dramatically make the situation of a person seem different.

Never despair when the salah is your true Divine Link to the Creator.

How did salatul taraweeh start?

It started when one day some sahaba saw the Prophet salallahu alaihi wa salaam praying by himself in Ramadhan, then they joined him. The next day people joined him, and they started to join him in salah. The third night the masjid was full!!!! Afterwards the Prohpet salallahu alaihi wa salaam did not pray in congregation like this again. Why? Lest people think it's fardh!

My Genuine Enlightening Moment: SubhanAllah! How the sahabah were quick to join him, and they as a generation were eager to join him in khayr - that the masjid was full by the 3rd night.

The mercy of Rasulullah salallahu alaihi wa salaam never ceases to amaze me. How easy he made things for us through the sunnah, yet we complain. Astaghfirullah.

Why are even women told to come out for 'eid salah?

Show the world the Muslim #s! We might be scattered around the planet but when it's time for 'eid then we are all there in the masulla area.

The sunnah is to have one big masulla for the WHOLE community. Shaykh Yaser said in Dallas they used a football field and subhanALlah 30,000 Muslims came out. Allahu akbar!

Salatul istikhara:

It's for when you've taken naseeha of the people, and you're not sure about something.

The result is not a dream or something special. It could be a good feeling or something physical happens to you and you then become firm on a decision. Do not do it for haraam things - you won't get any results!

SubhanAllah, this way to get a counsel with the CREATOR, and AL 'ALEEMUL HAKEEM the one who knows you better than yourself, who knows your past, your future, and knows what is KHAYR for you. Sometimes Muslims give you some advice, but it may not be good for you, but this is a counseling with your Rabb. SubhanAllah!

Salatul Fajr is our "Caffeine Kick"

When you sleep, Satan ties 3 knots on the back of your neck. And he says to each knot "Let a long night stay with you." Whan you wake up and cite the name of Allah one of the knots unties. When you make ablution another knot unties. And when you offer a prayer all of the knots untie. Thus, you wake up hale and hearty in the morning. Otherwise, you wake up asleep and downhearted." Women have it so easy! Alhamdulillah. A lot of the prayers that brothers have to go to the masjid for to reap reward, we get so easily. Alhamdulillah, alhamdulillah, alhamdulillah.

Also we get a "break" from the salah - I remember the shaykh saying The brothers would love to have a "break" from salah as you ladies do.

SubhanAllah the rahma and n'ima of Allah upon us.

There are great virtues in praying the nafl salah, one of my favorite parts of the class was when Shaykh Yaser Birjas talked about people who have marks on their faces because of prostration (they perform these extra salawat) [Al-Fath 48:29] -- the mark is the shining face, you can tell by looking at them, because his or her face shines, SubhanAllah, who wouldnt want to be one of them?!
