although Rusuallah never abandoned Witr or the sunnah or Fajr they are not Fard.

if you wake up keep the order of salah and pray 4 rakah isha and 2 rakah fajr. allah alaam.

3) if we sneeze shall we delay saying Alhumdulillah?

4) I'm i allowed to have breaks, for example i would read 4 rakah sunnah for esha and then i go to the kitchen, have a cookie or i would go for a walk round the house and come back to complete the rest of the esha prayer... is that ok or something i should avoid?
1. al-fatiha is a rukun (pilar) of the salah. reading an additional surah is sunnah your salah is valid inshallah.

2. yes inshallah.

3. yes delay it. when the man sneezed and said alhamdulillah and the man said yarhamkullah Rusullah gave a general prohabition to not talk in salah. so alhamdulillah would be considered foreign speech.

4. Once you prayed isha your obligation is over. Isha has 2 sunnah rakah after. any rakah after that would be considered nawafil or some form of tahajjud but yes inshallah you could take a break or sleep but try to pray witr before the time of fajr inshallah.

Salams everyone

To all the sisters, you'll be getting the first four odd break sessions for your questions. And I'll be alternating between the two sides of the hall.

Also, we'll be having a mega Q & A session at the end of both Saturday and Sunday insha'Allah.

The good news is that we now have the hall until 7pm on Sunday so we can get a 2 hour session in insha'Allah. Just make du'a that I can keep my voice going long enough!

السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركته
in the notes it says that isha starts when the twilight has gone, the majority say that the twilight is the redness/orange in the sky.does this mean we pray isha straight after that. im confused becasue i cant tell when its isha becasue its dark :
jazakallah

"I swear by the one whose hand my soul is in that you will not enter paradise until you believe.
And you won’t be believed until you love one another. May I tell you something, that if you practice it you will love another, spread the (salam) Islamic greeting among you." (Muslim)

Re: ****Questions for Abu Eesa****

  • I made wudu and put on my socks, then took them off for a while, then put them back on again and now i want to do wudu, will that count as proper wudu?
if you were in wudu for whole time inshallah. The majority of the say if you wipe ur socks and then take them off ur wudu is broken, the minority says because Rusullah never said it broke your wudu it doesn't. From your question I'm assuming u are saying you are in wudu the whole time until you either want to make wudu again while being in wudu or have put your socks back on for the final time, break your wudu and now want to wipe over your socks.
  • Is it ok for me to make wudu in an inconsistent way, i.e. wash my mouth once, face twice, arms thrice, etc?
inshallah. also you can take a shower without doing the acts of wudu if you have the intention and all the parts get wet.
  • If my socks have a hole, does that mean i can’t use them to perform wudu?
you can still use them inshallah. It is assumed when Rusullah wiped over his socks and it was made lawful the condition of the sahabah's socks were not 100% without holes and I believe there is a narration that some of the companions were on an expedition and one had a hole in their socks and wiped over them. Some scholars have stipulated how big the hole can be though.
  • During busy life, especially around dhuhr time, it gets hard for people to concentrate during prayer, what are the remedies for this?
for me I tell myself no matter except in extreme danger am i going to break this salah so I mine as well concentrate in it. Also when we say takbir we should remember Allah is the greatest and nothing else is worth occupying our mind at that time.
  • How far away should i be in order to cross infront of someone who is praying?
about 2 feet in front of where the person would make sujud.
  • If my mom is calling me do i have to answer her while im praying?
no allah has more right over you especially if it is a fard salah but you are allowed to nod or shake ur head once or twice during salah. Allah alaam.
  • If somone is at the door, do i go and open it for them?
i read on islamqa that if you think the person will not wait and you are in danger of missing something important then inshallah you can. allah alaam

1. No witr is sunnah. Allah has prescribed 5 obligatory daily salah. the hanafi school says witr is wajib though (not fard) if you understand the difference in the medhabs fiqh. But the most sound evidence is 5 salah and the rest are sunnah though witr and 2 sunnah before fajr are very recommened and encouraged and Rusullah never left them off.

2. Ruku or sujud? diffrence of opinion if you go down knees or hands first going into sujud. Don't go down like the camel. A camel goes down front first but only has knees... So depending on what you think has the strongest evidence it how you would come back up.

3. there is no difference on how a sister and brother sit in the 2nd and 4th rakah though some fuqaha say a women shouldn't bend their right foot pointing it forward but just kind of sit on both feet with the feet pointing back but there is no evidence for this.

4. for praying time you should look at the evidence and determine which you think it the most sound evidence. It's not good to say I'm running late i'm going to pray dhuhr according to hanafi today. You don't have to follow just one medhab it may be ok when you are first learning but once you start learning the proofs you have to look at the evidence and follow what you think it right in your heart inshallah. Allah alaam
