Lightbulb Beginner's Manual by Mithaq-ur-Rahmah: Shoora Solicited

Assalaamu Alaikum Dear Brothers & Sisters,

Alhumdulillah Mithaq-ur-Rahmah has received the esteemed opportunity to create a Beginner's Manual for all new members and students of AlMaghrib.

But we need your help!

PROBLEM: Ustadh Muhammad Alshareef noticed new students were at a disadvantage compared to veteran students. They often feel that they are out-of-the-loop because they are unfamiliar with the AlMaghrib style and terminology (Qabeelah, tribal competition, Gem boards, etc...)

SOLUTION: These terms and concepts can get thoroughly explained to the new students through a New Member's Manual. This will be in effort to keep them in-the-loop and they will therefore feel more comfortable as part of the AlMaghrib family.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU: Your help/insight as veteran students to contribute ideas and terms that should be included in this manual.

THIS THREAD: Is meant to compile all of your ideas and thoughts on how we can build on this manual. Especially newer students, how do you feel you could have been better introduced to and acquainted with the AlMaghrib environment?

YOUR IDEAS AND THOUGHTS ARE MUCH NEEDED SO PLEASE POST ASAP!

ALSO PLEASE REMEMBER WE ARE WORKING ON A DEADLINE, THIS NEEDS TO BE DONE BY SEPTEMBER 7TH FOR THE TCE CLASS.

May Allah reward you for any advice/ideas/suggestions you can offer.
Jazak-Allah Khair

Assalamu Alaikum

Something explaining the Qabeelats, Liwaa' , Gems, and all the little "inside" things is very important. Preferably a diagram for the Qabeelat system..maybe a map, and then on Hosna/Houston draw a little Liwaa' and then explain what that means and how your Qabeelat can attain it.

Terms that should be explained:

- Liwaa'
-Qabeelat
-Gem/Gemboard
-"wareeni shatartak"
-YEEEEEEAAAAH

Also abbreviations and acronyms...such as AMI....and maybe even a list of sites such as almaghrib.org, forums.almaghrib.org, khutbah.com, and emanrush.com

"Doughnuts vs. Apples" Principle

Did sh.Muhammad tell you about his " mostly-vegetarian-sunnah-diet"?

It works and I used to be a HARDCORE meat eater.

He made us do it in Hosna BOC and i've been using it since.

They should put the locations of REALLY good non-meat, non-grease, restaurants.

I discussed it with our teacher, and I concluded everything comes from the ground alhamdullilaah.

Shouldn't we put this in the MAIN AlMaghrib Folder?

So other tribes look into this ?
