What if your husband doesn't ask but you want to look nice for him and doing your eyebrows makes you look prettier? I am guessing this is OK.
I think there is a difference between holding an opinion because of convenience and it matches our internal desires versus holding an opinion because we are personally able to discern what has the stronger evidence, what is weak plus understanding the logic behind it.

If we are not able to discern this, then I think we should ask a shaykh whom we personally trust in judgement and knowledge before guessing what's OK or not. The la'na (curse) of Allah azzawajal isn't something we'd want our sisters to have, because to have the curse of Allah on oneself is to be far removed from His Mercy. Definitely not something small to assume what's permissible to do or not to do. May Allah protect us from that.

Just my 2 cents.

From what I've learned and what was discussed in class, only the three opinions are valid. And the situation you're mentioning is not actual one of the 3 opinions. The third opinion stipulates only if the husband asks... so if a girl wants to do it to please her husband that's not enough for it to fall under the third opinion. If I'm incorrect, please someone with more knowledge correct me, but this is what was we learned. And Allah knows Best.

Also, I would highly recommend anyone who is considering the third opinion to re-read this thread. Wallahu 'Alam

Wa Salaamu'Alykum,

Re: The third opinion on plucking of the eyebrows

what if you knew it was haraam and followed the first opinion until you were getting married as a bride and your ignorant relatives forced you/coerced/tricked you into plucking your eyebrows. Other than hating that and/or them for the rest of your life. Major sin- you'd have to do major repenting and/or hajj or if this was coercion you might be forgiven? I dont know if I am asking a loaded question. May Allaah forgive us and give us 'aafiya fi dunya wal aakhira.
