Re: Wanna be Part of *the* Qabeelat Fawz Legacy?

Sh. Riad touched upon the youth - and allowing them to do something for the ummah, with their zeal, with message, with a vision!

So,

Qabeelat Fawz's vision.
Qabeelat Faw'z message.
...coupled with a strong desire & zeal.

Bringing the youth back to Islam!

Re: Wanna be Part of *the* Qabeelat Fawz Legacy?

Random idea's, I am just thinking out aloud here, feel free to add or criticise them insha'Allah, constructive feedback is good, and we can bounce of each others idea's.

Here are the main groups I personally think we can help insha'Allah

1. Youth
2. Elderly
3. The sick
4. The poor
5. Raising health awareness

1. Youth
Go into schools, masjids, madrassa's and be the role models they so require. For example ask any 13 year old teenager and she'l tell you about about Cheryl and Ashley Coles life story, but ask about the lives of the sahaba, and they draw blanks. Its a sad fact but muslim children are falling behind at school also. Why?!
We need to show, nurture and encourage our children to reach their full potentials in deen AND dunya also. Masha'Allah the Muslims are in the forefront of careers nowadays, so why not get the educated people like engineers, doctors, lawyers, solicitors, teachers, IT personell etc to go to these children, give them motivational talks and information/guidance on how to go about applying for such jobs. Like "how to boost your CV" for example. I've personally done this with year 8 children in South Yorkshire, walhamdulilah it worked a treat!

2. Elderly: Help out at residential homes, go do their shopping, go have afternoon tea and a chit chat, arrange granny day outs... the possibilities are endless!

3. The sick: The hospitals are forever short of volunteers. There are loads of volunteer schemes you can join. I know someone who every fortnight on a wednesday afternoon, goes to a hospital and makes tea and coffee for patients on a ward. It takes 2 hours of her time!

4. Charity fundraisers for home and abroad. Dinners, auctions, car boot sales etc

5. Raising health awareness. Heart disease, Diabetes, obesity is at a massive high in the Asian/Arab cultures. People can again go into the community and raise awareness of such issues and offer advice. A good example is testicular cancer in men or breast cancer in women; we can get health professionals to show people how to self examine for example.

One more point, I know I have gone on a bit, but I'm sure QFawz had a scheme where they arranged support for the families of people arrested for specific circmstances. I really really liked that idea.

I also like tackling the crime and drug issue, and surely one way we can do this is by trying to divert attention to worthwhile causes, such as getting an education! Ya'ni its all about the shabbab!

Re: Wanna be Part of *the* Qabeelat Fawz Legacy?

What I find quite hard is keeping up the level of imaan between courses, and I often find that during the course that some students are excellent in their knowledge (of hadith, qura'an etc) mashAllah and I want to be that person with this same level of knowledge inshAllah.

For example, Sheikh Riad during Beautiful Patience course was asking many times to find an aayah and I am definitely not equipped with such information so I leave others to answer.

What to do between courses, what to read? Please someone advise, inshAllah.

Salaam 'alaykum wa rahmatullah,

Your right, and it's a common feeling especially with brothers and sisters living in the west who don't have many avenues of gaining knowledge.

So... what do you think we at Qabeelat Fawz can do to fill this void?

Re: Wanna be Part of *the* Qabeelat Fawz Legacy?

I think there is a great need to help educate the muslims in the community.
When i heard about the lack of muslims in the field of social care, i was moved to do something.
I wish to help out in this field as i feel we muslims can do a great deal to help educate families in bringing up righteous kids.
Unfortunately it appears there are many cases of abuse etc. happening in muslim families and we muslims don't seem to be doing anything about it to help.
My own personal opinion is that hopefully, with a bit of education, many of these issues can be resolved and risk for those who are vulnerable will be significantly reduced.
So who do i see or what do i need to do to sign up.

Also how does one go about becoming a QFawz volunteer?
I gave my details on the FOL course but you guys havn't replied.
Do i need to get my drums out?

I'm a bro ie like a brother but better (with added bells and whistles).
So i guess one ought to be seeking the hereafter.
Nice.
