It means that if you do one action, say you commit suicide (you jumped from a building), then the reward will be from the nature of what you did (you'll be thrown perpetually in hellfire again and again as you killed yourself in the Dunya).

Or, if someone is arrogant to humans, they may be punished with people who will humiliate them.

Or, if someone commits fornication, they may be punished with their own children committing fornication.

And so on ...
May Allah ta'ala give you tawfeeq.
