Exclamation Light of Guidance EXAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Asalam alaykum warhmatullahe wabarkatu.
OH MY ALLAH!
how was the LOG exam????
Dear Shaykh Yasir Qadhi
I was well prepared for your exam.....well that’s what I thought before I took the exam... to be honest the questions were worded in a way that you think you know the answer but after you answer but it’s the wrong answer.Next time please be easy on us.
But inshAllah may Allah reward us all for our efforts. Ameen

MashaAllah exam was smooth, very tricky and most questions Looked alike and had somewhat same answer but hamdulilaah it wasn't so bad. Jazak Allah khayr to all the volunteers who put together AMAZING study notes indeed they paid off. And barakAllah feek ya sheikh yasir for LOG i learned alot.

Re: Light of Guidance EXAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Even if you didn't get a 'good' score on the exam, don't you feel that studying made you better understand the material and remember the information that was presented in class? Without the exam, many students would have left their books and notes to collect dust on their book shelves and desks. So cheer up folks, the real exam scores will be revealed in the next life insha'Allah

Re: Light of Guidance EXAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good point Samia. Alhamdulillah I felt very confident going into the exam, studying for it made me understand the concepts more than I did during the class....and I also breezed through the mock exam that br Obaid sent out...so khair insha Allah.

Agreed, 100%!

I went through the notes and even led one of the study sessions, which I thought went quite well, but only managed to get a passing score on the exam!

So in my opinion, the exam grade is definitely not a complete reflection of what I think I was able to 'learn' from the class , but more importantly...just having prepared for the exam probably made me retain 95% more of that knowledge, iA, than if I hadnt touched my books since the class. So I'd take that any day over having made a 95% without studying for it...so alhamdulillah!

btw, did I mention the grapes are definitely sour this time of the year :P!!!

Re: Light of Guidance EXAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Assalamu alaikum,
Same here ... just passing score BUT I would like to share something that I have been using the knowledge from this class to start off the meetings at my workplace. For example, last time in our meeting we talked about the difference between Muslim, Mu'umin and Muhsin.
And indeed I am greedy of Jannah and want to be there :-) May Allah grant us all the best place in Jannah and we be in the company of Prophet (saw) and all the other Prophets - Ameen.

Re: Light of Guidance EXAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Salam All,

To address the initial points of this thread: Yeah I'd say that was, erm, quite the exam! Those few unusually-worded questions totally left me floundering in confusion, and I caught myself re-reading them over and over and over and over again before I realized what they were asking. Or maybe it's 'cause I'm an essay person & multiple choice tests never do me justice. If that's the case, then "meh." But Alhamdulillah in all circumstances...

I was telling my sisters earlier: a TRUE reflection of our knowledge comes in the 'Akhira, when we all bring forth our keys to jannah with the right ridges, Insha'Allah. So cheer up fellas! What's in a number anyways? It's like what Memoona said--the purpose of the exam is to encourage us to re-visit this knowledge, internalize it, perhaps teach it to others and benefit in the process.

And I'd say we've all proven that, Alhamdulillah.

Imam Ash-Shafi'ee (rahimahu Allah) once said: "All humans are dead except those who have knowledge; and all those who have knowledge are asleep, except those who do good deeds; and those we do good deeds are deceived, except those who are sincere; and those who are sincere are always in a state of worry..."

May our true success be reflected in our hearts, tongues and limbs; and may our A+ grade come in the next life. Ameen.

Barak'Allahu Feekum Everyone!

You've all made me so proud... =')

Re: Light of Guidance EXAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's all LOSER talk! Lol just kidding.

Alhamdulillah I guess. You know I think next time we'll have to prepare better for these types of tests. Maybe even the mock exam questions should be written in the same format...

Is that the Ameerah talking?
"Loser talk" lol Didn't see that coming!

Kay whoever makes the mock exam questions next time should totally get creative with the syntax/wording. That'll train us better Insha'Allah. =)
