Top 10 Reasons

Top 10 Reasons this was the Best AlMaghrib Class Ever!

The following is a top 10 list that "Moustafab" and myself came up with through several email exchanges. (Please note that # 7 was written by Moustafa)

10) Sh. Yaser - not just an ordinary scholar but someone who KNOWS SOO much mashaAllah. He read like a 100 books on every issue/topic and then can you tell you the exact chapter/page to look for it in the book (IE - ibn Qayyim's chapter on Music in one of his books)...

9) Shedding light on many of the misconceptions we have - He showed us why we have so many different opinions and thus, arguments. Knowing the history of it all really puts it into perspective.

8)The in-depth analysis of ibn - Taymiyyah...quick side note on
him...when he was imprisoned for a second time the prisoners loved him sooo much that when they were released many refused to leave but rather stayed in prison to be with him...

7) The kid supplying the snacks was hot! Although that guy that did the slides at the end was not very pleasant to the eye.

7B)Sh. Yaser's description of Great Muslim Adventure Day at Six Flags.
The Mexican Posse and the cars that go jumping on the street.
lollllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll
that was singlehandedly the funniest moment i've ever had because of something a sheikh said and did...

6) Having the conviction to say: "Ashabul La Adree, w'allahu alim..."

5) There were two really simple moments that I just loved. 1. When he asked us without having us raise our hands, if we use our credit cards to finance and get sucked into the riba, and then follow it with "this is haram". 2. When he broke down the music argument in 2 minutes, you could feel a hush go over the crowd both times. Cause you knoow a lot fool themselves into thinking both of these things are ok, and he was so direct about it in a way no one could argue.
This is by the way, sooo typical of sheikh yaser because I saw him put people in their place at conferences also.

4) The Brotherhood and Sisterhood that developed - I don't remember any class that mixed within the brothers soo much and soo many bonds of friendship and love were created....alhamd...

3) How It all came together at the end. The last 2 hours of that class were one of the few great spiritual moments of many of our short lives im sure. In that span, we saw all the material merge together and make so much sense, we learned a lot about where we are today, we had many funny moments, we all had this sad feeling that the class was coming to an end yet at the same time all realized how blessed we were to be there. And best of all, you had the sense that everyone around you felt exactly the same way at exactly the same moment. It was amazing. This should be number one on the list.

2) I will repeat #3 in another way: Usually after a class - the students RUN to leave...After Sh. YASERS Class- everybody just sat there...I am sure many were thinking, "Noooo....teach us something else!!!!"...and this is 9:30 PM !!!!! Who knew that fiqh could be so exhilarating.

1) Shahada and the "coming home" of Sr. Nisha...

Lolz...The MYD day and "hispanic" brothers one was hilarious...

As was the presentation at the end...

But subhanallah...no one wanted to leave the class when it came to a close...really goes to show you how amazing it was.

Mabruk to Sr. Nisha! Allah Ya'inik..May Allah bless you.

Cultured Islam is quite funny. Words like that moved from India/Pakistan to Guyana to America.

Anyway ... Good list.
