Swearing by the Religion

Assalamualaikum Ya Shaikh!
Kayfa Haluka.

Ya Shaikh, I hear this a lot, people who say "Whyatt Deenak/deenek, or whyatt deenee." I swear by your religion (Islam), I swear by my religion (Islam) etc...

Is this allowed ya shaikh?

Baraka Allah Feek

Re: Swearing by the Religion

Salaam Alaikum

The 'religion' is composed of many things, some of which are uncreated (the Quran), and others which are created (the people's actions of praying, fasting, etc).
Therefore one should not give an oath by it; an oath may only be given by a Name or Attribute of Allah.
