Lightbulb Durbah Sisters Gem Board

Islam is the GOOD ONE (alternate pronoounciation is GUUD VON).

We are Muslims without labels.

The POINT of existence is slavehood. The point of slavehood is recognition of reality. This is why when one is disobedient, he is regarded as one deluded and in a stupor -- because he is self-assured and thinks himself sufficient, master of his own mini universe, his own mini-reality. May we be forgiven.

"I was made to burn in the fire of your altar, my only desire is to be ash, scattered and forgotten."

"Qatala Allahu Man Qatala Uthmaan"- Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her)
(Translation -- May Allah kill whom has killed Uthmaan).

Beware of the people of minority who break away from the majority.

Even the spit of the Prophet (peace be upon him) is precious.

Often times Muslims do not know how to disagree with one another -- in the
time of the Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) their difference in opinion was in their tongues, but never penetrated their hearts -- let us emulate their way with one another, inshaa' Allah.

If only our ibadaat can be an ounce of what the sahaba felt/did/experienced. Ya Allah, Madad

Subhan Allah , It is from Allah's rahmah on this ummah that he made the
gentle become tougher and the tougher become more gentle ... case in point
Abu Bakr becomes Umar and Umar becomes Abu Bakr.

Inshaa' Allah, I hope I can raise a leader who will raise a leader until
the end of time.

It is so amazing how leaders would be true to their people, sticking
with them even when times were rough. How Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) would walk among his flock at night to get feedback. Can we think of any leaders like that nowadays? Subhan Allah!

Uthmaan's advice (may Allah be pleased with him) : "Don't let deceived people deceive you regarding the dunya." How many non-muslims to we take as "experts" in dunya affairs and never consider their lack of credibility. We read their books and forget our own!

Second Grader Abdullah Ibn Azzubayr with his posse said , "Give me your
hand so I can pledge bay'ah (allegiance) to you." And Rasul Allah (peace be upon him) took bay'ah from all the children.

The khalifa was murdered and they still performed fajr prayer, ya Subhanallah!

If you find yourself taking sides, tell yourself, "it's none of my business".

If only we could have the faith and optimism to say, "They gave us their soil."- as Asim Ibn Umar said.

When Umar takes one path, the shaytan will take another.

"Allah, I am tough, make me soft. Allah I am weak, make me strong. Allah I am stingy, make me generous." -- Duaa' of Umar (may ALlah be pleased with him).

Muslims don't pray in the closet, but out in the courtyards- We have the
truth..we have no reason to hide it. May Allah increase the strength of
our iman and increase our courage, inshaa Allah.

Even the angels shyed away in the presence of Uthmaan

"All the sahaba are shining stars, whichever one you take as an example,
you will be rightly guided."

The True Jihaad of Allah ... Justice. When you think about the fact that
truly these were men of Allah who abolished the CNN's and the NBC's of
Day, who propagate lies, spread corruption. It gives us much to live up
to..a great blessed legacy to uphold. May we all be able to do this ya
rabb! And May Allah put barakah in all your efforts. Ameen

"Who are you to enslave these people when their mothers have born them
free?" - Umar

"Don't you realize that the mercy of Allah is expansive? And He is able to do what he wishes?" - Aisha

"The angels were defending you as long as you kept quiet." - Rasul Allah
(peace be upon him) said to Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him). How often do we blurt out harsh words in response to someone?

Even during war, the Muslims had to pray on time and not forget/miss any
prayers, to make up later. Now, we see Muslims putting off prayer for
reasons such as school, work, a game, a movie..reasons that cannot come
close to comparison with jihad.

Know that if it is the advertised lifestyle or the fashion industry that you worship, then they have died in the past and will continue to die new deaths - but if it is the ever-lasting Creator of all concepts and conceptions that you worship, then know that He is alive, existent, and will never go out of style or be replaced....

Before they went to battle, the Muslim army would hear the ahadith and
Quran, and be reminded of the hereafter, while the kufaar would drink and
"party". Now, we sings songs before battle to pump us up, and we wonder
why the Muslims are not victorious?

How many of us will think of our sins whenever we are afflicted with trials? How many of us instead think of whom to blame the situation upon?!

Subhan Allah!! The only two ayas that didn't have two people who memorized them directly from the Rasul (peace be upon him) happened to be the same two ayahs memorized by the one person whom the Rasul (peace be upon him) said that his shahada was worth that of 2 men. Subhan Allah! They could have been memorized by any other person, and this would have a posed a problem, but Allah (subhanahu wa ta`aala) promised to protect the Quran for us, and He did, walhamdulilah.

I experienced my first purging of propaganda. One thing I always remember
from US history is that during the American revolution , the American army
was told to hold their fire until they "see the whites of [the enemy's]
eyes." But now I will remember that Usama ibn Zayd told the believers to
hold their fire unless it is to attack the enemy whose head is shaved down
the center.

Subhan Allah! I never knew that Khalid ibn Al Waleed and his army faced
so much heat for retreating. Subhan Allah! Imagine that. Coming back from
such a tough battleground ... back to your home town and even your own family is not there to give an encouraging word. Locked doors? Whoah. Now
that's quite a test from Allah!

After Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) was chosen as khalifah, the first thing he said was: "I was made a wali (protector) over you, but I am not the best from among you" - Now when we achieve a position of status or enjoy a similar blessing , do we show the same humbleness?

Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) was deeply affected when he felt he offended a Muslim brother to the extent of crying. When the brother refused to say the offensive comment back to Abu Bakr and instead said "May Allah forgive you", how affected do we get at our sins which are much greater?

The strength of an Ummah is not in their physical ability, but in their
iman, Allahu Akbar!

Ignorance blinds us from the truth even if our intentions are good. Along with our intentions we must have the correct knowledge and action to back it up, inshaa' Allah.

Fulfill your duties to your community so that when hardship afflicts you, your neighbors will come to your aid.

Responsibility is not to be taken lightly. The sahabah were very responsible out of the fear that they would be accountable before Allah.

The art of rhetoric was a skill that all the Khulafaa al Rashedeen possessed.

The companions did not question their ameers and the sahaba. Who, then,
are we to question Allah and his beloved Rasul Allah (peace be upon him)?

"If there ever comes a time when you are captivated by someone's
slogans, Say: Work! For verily Allah and his messenger (peace be upon him) shall see your deeds." - Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her)

Islam is the GOOD ONE! Allahu Akbar!
