Clan Name: Banu North Zone

As-salaamu 'alaikum wa rahmatu Allahi wa barakatuh,

This thread is dedicated on helping the North Zone clan choose their name. The format should be "Banu somthing".

It seems the North Zone brothers like the name Banu Asad, but I want to hear what the sisters have to say before we conclude on anything. And if any brothers want to suggest something, they're also welcome.

Since this is going to be your identity from now on, give it some deep thought, in sha Allah.

JazakAllah khair for asking for the sisters' input. I know where they're getting Banu Asad from (I think)...but exactly what does Asad mean?

just to inform those who dont know and to remind those who know, Banu Asad means 'the children of the lion'.

During one of the battles in persia, the muslims forces were losing becaues the persians had upto 200 elephants. The muslims had never seen them, thus they didnt know how to fight these animals. After much Muslim loss, Banu Asad made a committment that their entire tribe will work only on taking down the elephants. in doing so, they lost many of thier men, and a person had been martyred from almost all the family.

In their honor, the brothers decided to call our selves Banu Asad.

No matter how tough the fight is, we will keep the banner of Islam high. and this is our motive.
