Re: Class: "The Purification Act: Fiqh of Worship I" ~ February 11-13 & 18-20
The snacks manager requested two percolaters or water heaters for class (one for brothers and one for sisters)... If anyone can help please post here. My efforts did not return much. If needed I could try twisting the arms of a masajid to borrow one but I don't believe that would be too successful. Does DUS have any in the Cafeteria?

OK, so I am still waiting to hear the confirmation that we have the daycare room, and the sister that is supervising. What I don't have is a list of those that need babysitting, besides myself. Fear of Hope, I accidentally deleted your email and I don't have it, so can you email me and let me know if you have any names of people that want to help or need babysitting? I thought I would see last wknd, and talk to you then, but our car broke down so that was that mashaAllah.
If any one else needs to get ahold of me they can reach me at ummrjabk@yahoo .Is it appropriate for me to post that? If not can one of the moderators remove it for me? |

It is confirmed that we are at Dar us Salaam cafeteria. I don't know why I got emails asking who's incharge of the class and what's been said but Farhat and Sally are attending the class and will be the Ameer and Ameerah and with all class things they are the top of the chain.
If they would like they could post any final and confirmed logistics we will need to know. just know if you aren't there at 7pm next Saturday then you are like sooo not cool

Re: Class: "The Purification Act: Fiqh of Worship I" ~ February 11-13 & 18-20
ASA,
I was thinking that maybe it would be a good idea to purchase two Percolators for Almaghrib classes. It seems that it would be a good investment, since the classes are very long and we would need them in every class. I looked up in the internet and it costs about $120 for each percolatore that could make up to 100 cups of hot water/coffee. Maybe we can raise some funds, if ten people give $25 each, we could easily buy two Percolators for all future Almaghrib classes and it would be Almaghrib's property. Any takers or other ideas are welcome. I would be the first to offer $25, we need 9 more people. Jazakum Allah Kheyr |

Re: Class: "The Purification Act: Fiqh of Worship I" ~ February 11-13 & 18-20
Walaikumu Salaam,
I'll give 25 and I know some brothers who will. Is there a place around here like a store we could go to? If we can not get it by the first weekend we can fundraise at the class and for sure we'd easily get it inshaa' Allah. I believe it would be a good idea to get everything we need such as percolaters and the such and buy them as official Al Maghrib class property. This is an awesome idea. I don't know what the status of Qabeelat Mubarak's supplies go but we could combine our resources and have this as a joint venture since even when we were having classes in both Qabeelat (the same class) many College Park people came to GMU so it would be easy to share on this. We need a "shopping list" of everything that we need in this aspect and things that we always ask around for. We can buy eventually through funds. We could do bake sales at classes, or sell EmanRush cd's at masajid and classes on behalf of our Qabeelat. I believe both Qabeelat's should appoint someone in charge of accounting/fundraising like a treasurer and have some form of revenue such as selling T-Shirts, CD's, bake sales or Jumu'ah lunches. Set up something regular and go for it. That money can be used for anything the Qabeelat needs including accomodations for out of towners or a Qabeelat scholarship fund and so on. Also you could use it for projects like dawah, sadaqah, etc. by your Qabeelat. So who in Thabt would be willing to step up and do this project? If so talk to your ameer or ameerah. Second, give a shopping list on this thread and we will work towards it. Percolators first inshaa' Allah |
