"The Fiqh of Love: Marriage in Islam" by: Sheikh Yaser Birjas
----------Qabeelat Hosna (Houston, TX) on February 11-13 & 18-20 Class Summary: Who is this class for? * Young men and women who are in love or always worried about being in love in the wrong way. * People who are interested in learning how to practice the ‘Halal’ love. * Those who are scared of the idea of being ‘married’; how to get married? * Couples who never had the chance to learn their rights and obligations in marriage. * Mature people who are enjoying their family life and looking forward to enhance the quality of their family time. * Married people who are looking into understanding their spouses and managing their differences. * The husband and wife who feel their love is fading out, and would like to rejuvenate their passions. * Local Imams as they try to understand the different fiqh opinions in Family law. * Religious leaders who would like to learn the standard procedure of a legal and an official marriage contract. * Community leaders who are involved in marriage counseling and need to know how to approach marital problems. "Oh young men! Whoever is capable (to afford the expenses) of marriage, let him do so. (Marriage) helps one control his eyesight and chastise his private parts. But, he who can't afford the marriage expenses, let him observe fast as it would (act) as a protector for him." - Bukhari and Muslim By the end of this class you will be able to: * Learn the Sunnah of Rasulullah salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam and his example as a husband and a family man. * Understand love and its rulings from an Islamic perspective. * Look for your mate without the fear of committing Haram. * Understand marriage and perform a marriage contract the Islamic legal way. * Know your rights and obligations as a Muslim husband and as a Muslim wife. * Love and understand your spouse and, by the will of Allah, maintain that love. * Recognize the dramatically different needs of a man and a woman in marital life. * Enjoy a romantic and intimate relationship with your spouse, knowing the permissible and the prohibited acts. * Enjoy being in love with the one whom you have already been with for a while: your spouse. "These classes are really the sweetness of my life." - AlMaghrib Student Seminar Materials: And you won't go home empty-handed. You'll leave this course with a credit towards your under-graduate degree from the American Open University - recognized by Al Azhar in Cairo, Egypt; a binder with a summary of the lessons and handouts of the seminar; and step-by-step advice on how to carry what you've learned to others. "AlMaghrib Rocks!" - Student Previous AlMaghrib Accredited seminars sold out in New Jersey and Houston long before the actual event. Students had to be turned back due to limited space. you have to be 17+? hmm, i thought it was going to be 15/14.5+ (or based on islamic adulthood like anyone 12 and up in general), since that's the age of adulthood and all for the most part.
Allahu Alim, is 17+ official? |

i know people who married at 15 and I think the class would definitely be beneficial to those who marry under 17 and also those who are dealing with being single in schools and stuff who are puberty and above. it is important that they know, as single muslims, how to get married and what marriage is "all about" in these crucial years that they will be looking and inshaa' Allah finding a pious spouse... I also know a couple 16 year olds that are mature and regular al maghrib students will they be denied going to this class (i think it would be their first missed class then)

Re: Class: "The Fiqh of Love: Marriage in Islam" ~ February 11-13 & 18-20
if i was 16 i'd be upset
alhamdulillah im not. This class is just so important for everyone just like TPA since its something everyone must do. I just know Al Maghrib classes are not usually repeated and such and this is something that applies to teenagers very much who are the most tested by the fitnah of western style relationships and would want to marry etc.
