Ibnul Qayyim's full name?

Salaam

Is Ibnul Qayyim's full name (or at least part of it).."Ibnul Qayyim Al Jawzi"? If so, was he referred to as "Ibnul Qayyim" sometimes and "Al Jawzi" other times and "Ibnul Qayyim al Jawzi" other times in class? Im kind of confused...

Wa 'Alaykum Salaam

Ibn Qayyim's full name: Shams al-Din Muhammad ibn Abi Bakr ibn Qayyim Al-Jawziyya. 'Ibn Al-Jawzi' is not the same as 'Ibn Qayyim Al-Jawziyya'.

Re: Ibnul Qayyim's full name?

Assalamu alaikum,

Ibn Qayyim al-Jawziyyah (also known as Ibn al-Qayyim) is different from Imam Ibn al-Jawzee. They both share a similar last name, but they are neither the same nor related.

Ibn al-Jawzee is the famous muhaddith, speaker, writer whose numerous works include Talbees Iblees and others.

Ibn al-Qayyim is the closest companion of Ibn Taimiyyah who accompanied him until his death and later became a great scholar himself.

May Allah have Mercy upon all of them.
