Thumbs up Re: AlMaghrib in MEMPHIS: Everyone's Sayin' Yyyyyeaaahhhh!!!!

Alhamdu Lillah

I think the confrence exceeded the expectations of most, it was one of the most beautiful events Memphis has witnessed. May Allah reward all those volunteers who came together for the sake of Allah to do something beautiful. May he join our hearts and make it in our scale of good deeds on the Day of Accounting.

I saw so many hearts opening and so many negative vibes that had stagnated our community blowing away before my eyes. May Allah reward Ustaadh Muhammad AlShareef the first time I saw him speak was at the third Houston Dawah Conference. This may sound weird to most of the AlMaghrib Students but I really liked him because he reminded me of my beloved friend and teacher Abdulbary Yahya (who was not yet an AlMaghrib Instructor at the time). He was very courtious and invited me to up to his room and gave me some of the posters and registration cards for the Conquest class. I remember when he told me there will come a time when the knowledge will be taken away and that we should seek knowlege now while we still have the opportunity. From that time I had a dream that one day AlMaghrib would be in Memphis, and alhamdu lillah this weekend that dream became reality. There really wasn't one person from our community that didn't help in some form or another so I would like to say to Memphis...

THUMBS UP ELBOWS OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's right, seems like al Maghrib TN has added some *spice* to southern life...i see this darkhorse qabeelah coming out with the liwaa..uh oh uh oh...inshaAllah
The talkshow was an UNBELIEVEABLE success walhamdulillah! And added a much needed dimension and unique element to the event.

Insha'Allah I think we will see more events like that one. May Allah SWT Reward our Brothers and Sisters in Houston for the inspiration to do it here.

The "talkshow" is meant to be a forum of different panels that comprise of parents, youth, and any shuyookh from your community or guest speakers that you invite. And the main purpose of it is an attempt to address the "generation gap" that exists between parents and youth today.

You may want to visit www.themasjid.org and click the link for the information about the Texas Da'wah convention last year. Take a look at their schedule and any program descriptions for further information.

If you need specific help from us, we'll be more than happy to oblige Insha'Allah.

I will relay the message to Shareef Insha Allah. By the way, we might be in the neighborhood some time in July Insha Allah, maybe you could talk him into changing his mind.
