Imam Malik's proof?
AssalamuAlaikum,
In my notes I have that Imam Malik's opinion (or one narration...?) was that it is not even permissible for an Imam to lead if he has to sit. (Sitting Imam not allowed). What was the proof for this, since all the proofs given in class were regarding situations where Imams were seated? |

Re: Imam Malik's proof?
I think he just had an opinion about it, he didn't give us the proof but he gave us a reason.
Malik says that it's not permissible for the Imam to sit in the first place. Reason: For example if the Imam is chronically ill then you should get another person who can stand to prevent future fitnah for the kids who grow up seeing that. Maybe he didn't mention the proof because Imam Malik didn't have any? Allahu 3lam |
